History/Overview

Ballwin is a St. Louis, Missouri, suburb located directly to the west of the city. Once a small farming community, Ballwin is now home to a variety of suburban neighborhoods and large corporate offices. 

The city’s most notable feature is the historic Ballwin Opera House, which was constructed in 1879 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today, the Ballwin community is best known as the location of the St. Louis Cardinals’ minor league affiliate, the State Farm Cardinals.
