St. Louis suburbs are taking the top spots in Niche’s new rankings of the “2023 Best Places to Live in Missouri.” The ranking and review site analyzed public data, reviews, and surveys to help families find the best places to live, collecting data from sources such as the Census and FBI. The first 23 cities recognized in the rankings are all St. Louis suburbs, with Clayton topping the list as the best place to live in Missouri.

The community of over 16,000 residents also received an “A” grade for jobs and an “A-” grade for diversity and outdoor activities. Crime and safety were also major considerations in the rankings, with seven of the top 10 St. Louis suburbs recognized scoring a “B-” grade or better in that category.

Niche also ranked cities in all other U.S. states, with Bannockburn, a small north Chicago suburb, named the best place to live in Illinois. Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania, was named the best place to live in the country.
